Where can I find the lowest air fares?

Question by Nyx: Where can I find the lowest air fares?
I’m planning on flying down to Florida during the holiday season this year. where can I find the lowest air fares if I’m planning on flying out of Albany International Airport in New York to West Palm Beach International on the twenty-sixth of December and returning on the second of January? The lowest price I’ve found is $ 560 round trip. My grandmother is paying so that I can be with her for the holiday and I really don’t want it to cost her an arm and a leg, so please help me. Any suggestions are welcome.

Southwest usually has the best deals overall. I’ve used Expedia.com over the years for international flights. They’re good for comparing flights and their costs.

Though in general air fares tend to be costly even in this economy. If you can book in advance then do so.

Villa Raja Canggu

Villa Raja is located within the heart of tranquil Canggu, a conventional Balinese village, with postcard views onto rice paddies, well away from evening club noise but only 20 minutes from Seminyak. It is lower than 5 minutes driving to reach the Canggu beach.

This fairly extraordinary dwelling is considered one of latest and most opulent mansions in Bali, and yet the moment you enter Villa RaJa, it’s as if in case you have taken a time machine again to Bali golden period of architecture. Tired of the plethora of minimalist Bali Zen villas bobbing up across the island, house owners Ralph and Janet Hogan got down to flip again the clock and create an architectural masterpiece to showcase the myriad textures, kinds, arts and crafts for which Bali is so rightly famous.

Villa Raja Style

Crafted by two of the most talented conventional builders of Bali, this can be a structure of great magnificence with a timeless patina which weaves cutting-edge technology into a superb cloth of antiquity. four hundred yr old timbers, richly carved paneling, coral, pebbles, limestone, marble and even re-cut Art Deco roof tiles enhance each side of the building.

Villa Raja Accommodation

Basically there are two buildings on the compound: Fundamental Home and Visitor House. On the principle house, there are three bedrooms and one bedroom on the Guest House Jineng.

Beneath this dramatic exterior, new buildings frame and stabilise an historical 12 metre high ironwood and teak jineng, containing the bottom ground media room (full with big cinema screen and basis-shaking Yamaha sound system.) Upstairs, an unforgettable Master Bed room, with hovering 6 metre ceilings and sweeping views of the encircling rice paddies. The massive vintage carved bedhead frames a king dimension bed and was once a prestigious home facade in Java. One customer likens spending an evening here to sleeping in the sexiest art gallery of the world, with waxed, black ironwood flooring, huge teak beams and, wrapping across the room, the unfolding saga of the Ramayana in lovely, softly lit kamisan paintings.

The bed room leads onto a separate walk in robe (large) complete with secure, and an unique, hand-formed ensuite toilet that is straight out of the Arabian nights. This in turn opens onto the eye popping Gaudi esque outdoor bathe, patterned completely underfoot and on all sides with a blinding collection of 1920s terrazzo tiles rescued from mansions being demolished in Java.

Villa Raja Expertise

Villa Raja options one other 3 gorgeous bedrooms with beautiful ensuite bathrooms. One varieties the upper ground of a separate smaller timber jineng which overhangs the large 20 metre lpool, rimmed with carved stone and fed by spouting, 2 metre stone statues. Here you swim in drinkable water produced by a complicated colloidal silver purification plant. The pool also options an 8 metre waterslide made by the builders of Bali famous roller coaster waterslide centre, Waterbom in Kuta.

Like the nation which impressed it, Villa Raja is itself an unforgettable cultural experience. From the large improbable creatures entrance door (carved out of a 1000 12 months previous sprawling lychee root) to the magnificent, carved Borobodur style taro stone gate; or the priceless vintage Sumba stone ceremonial slab which serves as a bridge to the eating gazebo, which floats on a water lily pond, replete with large fish. That is certainly a paradise for photographers.

The Healthiest Villa in Bali

After 20 years of tolerating wrenching gut problems, twisted limbs from shonky architecture, mendacity awake to an insane cacophany of flirting geckos and combating rodents, or sweltering within the heat whereas drowning in mosquito repellant, the house owners determined that some elements of their villa can be quintessentially un-Balinese.

Insect screens, (virtually unknown in Bali) protect all bedroom and loo home windows at Villa Raja. All rooms are air conditioned and provided with followers as well. The buildings have been constructed to Western safety design requirements so no shonky, wobbly steps, cracked paths or dangerous shortcuts here.

A classy advanced secondary sewerage remedy system ensures that Villa RaJa solely recycles clear, safe water back into the Balinese environment.

Villa Raja Eating

Kitchen employees have been skilled in Western standards of hygiene and prepare meals in two impeccably clean and trendy kitchens (one for company, one for kitchen workers) however after all training is of little use in a country where an ice block in your gin and tonic can put you in your back for a week.

If there’s one factor as synonymous with Bali as beauty, it’s tourists laid down with Bali Belly. Bali water is decidedly 3rd world and everyone uses bottled water to drink, brush teeth etc. However it is pretty effectively not possible, if not financially unviable, to scrub meals in bottled water, or shower and wash in it, which is why the homeowners have installed a cutting-edge water purification plant, again using the colloidal silver filtration system, the world most effective water purification technology (as used on the house shuttle.) Pure, completely secure drinking water is piped to all showers, basins and so on within the house. Source: Bali Villas

Will Southwest’s air fairs go down after they buy Air Tran?

Should I wait to buy tickets?

If you didn’t see, both airlines will continue to operate independently until further notice. Don’t hold off on buying tickets as the merger between the two airlines will not be completely done until next year.

On routes that both Airtran and Southwest operate, expect fares to go up as less competition means higher fares.

Go ahead and buy your tickets.

Have a great trip!

If you inject a fair amount of air into your veins, will you feel anything?

I mean the air will go into the heart which will stop the blood flow, but will this make you feel something or you will just be ok until you will sudently die ?
Craine that`s wrong , small amount of air will get part of blood and will take place to stop the blood flowing into the heart.

Even a small bubble of air in your veins can kill you. Have you ever seen on TV (or real life) when someone squirts or flicks a needle before they inject someone? It’s so they get the air bubbles out.

EDIT: No egon, you’re wrong. Not that I think Y!A is the best source of information, but with a quick search I found this:

What was the explosion during the Biggin Hill International Air Fair today?

Basically, as many people may or may not know, London Biggin Hill Airport is having their annual air fair today.

I don’t know much about planes myself, but I am curious as to what happened. I was standing on Leaves Green. I’d just got up and heard two loud popping sounds in my left ear. Around 5 seconds later, a massive puff of black smoke hurtled into the air. Right before this happened, some sort of jet did a fly by over the crowd very low, and very fast. From what a lot of people can understand, this plane crashed. A photo I took with my phone of the smoke going up is labelled as being taken at 15:36.

My friend and I, however, drove all around Biggin Hill, Keston and it’s valleys, and could not find anything. Listening to LBC 1152AM, they were talking as if nothing had happened, but clearly, something went up.

Does anybody know what this actually was?

It was part of the RAF demonstration featuring Tornado Bombers & Fighters, Hawks, AWACS, Chinook etc.
Part of the demonstration involved the 2 Tornado bombers on a mock bombing run of the runway – as they passed over the runway, explosions were set off to mimic bombs which would be dropped from the Tornados. The explosions were very real, complete with huge fireballs.
And yes, the Tornados were very fast, very low & loud :-)

Look For More Than Just The Beach On Your Next Vacation

Why not look into tailor made holidaysarrangements next time you’re thinking of going abroad? Rather than tasking a run of the mill package holiday with excursions that only show you a few points of interest around the town where your hotel is located how about a little bit of adventure?

Everybody’s been on all inclusive holidays where we meant to get out into the hills, into the forests and over the plains, into the historic old towns, museums and galleries and then just wound up spending ten nights drunk and ten days hungover, pancaked on a lounger by the sea. Well, we all have when we were much younger anyway.

These days, if I want to kill two birds with one stone and tan while drunk there’s a 24 hour tanning salon opposite at least two rowdy pubs not ten minutes walk from me so I have the covered now. When I go away now I want to learn new things, to discover and possibly have a bit of an adventure. I’m more interested in the history and culture of a place these days than how cheap the beer is and how expensive the clubs are.

So I was looking into some holiday companies, ones that offer tours like the Japanese blossom tour and sightseeing tailor made cruises South America. I realised there are tours that can take you anywhere you can imagine. Limiting yourself to one particular town for the duration is kinda daft when you think about it. Like a gap year student I realised that the final destination isn’t the point, it’s the journey.

Zen? Maybe, but what’s the point of going somewhere if you don’t enjoy the getting there? You find yourself in a cheap hotel that looks like it could have come from a production line then come home again darker, poorer and in no way fulfilled.

I used to enjoy that kind of holiday but now I’m older, wiser, less fit and I don’t look so good in Speedos any more! So now I’ll take a sedate trip to the grape growing regions of France, buy a few bottles on the way out and rip it up when we get back to the hotel. I may be getting old and stale but I’m on holiday after all!

These holidays might end up being a bit more expensive than ten days in Benidorm but the relaxation, the ambiance and the experience certainly make it worth while.

Car Care Aware Fairs Show Consumers’ Neglect for Their Vehicles

The Car Care Council reports that during the Car Care Aware Fairs last April and October 2006 they discovered that nine out of 10 vehicles need maintenance and repair services. Such findings they say, is going to be important especially for the huge untapped DIY and DIFM sales opportunities for the automotive aftermarket.

Approximately one thousand vehicles were inspected during the fair submitted by event coordinators from sixteen states. The result shows that 88% of the vehicles checked during the National Car Care Month in April and Fall Car Care Month in October needed maintenance of their vehicles as well as replacement parts like for example fuel parts, windshield wipers, air filters, belts, hoses and lights. Some vehicles were also in need of motor oil or fluids.

According to Rich White, Executive Director of Car Care Council, “Vehicle check-up events are typically the focus of Car Care Aware Fairs sponsored by repair shops, parts stores, distributors in cooperation with local vocational schools, media, civic groups and others. While these events are free to consumers and serve as community-relations builders, most aftermarket businesses who participate experience an increase in sales and customers as a result.”

The result of the vehicle check-ups during the Car Care Aware Fairs are as follows:

• Car Lubricants and Fluids- 30% of the vehicles checked have either overfull, low or dirty motor oils, 28% have inadequate level of washer fluid and 28% have low, leaky or dirty coolant. Likewise, transmission, brake power steering and clutch fluids were also checked and resulted to a 26% failure rating.

• About 15% of the checked vehicles were found out to have faulty front windshields while 9% needed service to rear wipers.

• Out of the 22% vehicles inspected there was only one car with a belt that needed replacement

• 14% vehicles need new hose

• 25% of the vehicles calls for new filters

• 8% requires new PVC filters

• 8% needs to have their check engine light repaired

• 17% require the repair of their battery cables, clamps, and terminals

• 9% of the batteries were not properly attached

• 11% had either green, dark or clear/yellow charge indicator light

• 20% have improperly inflated tires

• 11% worn tread and need replacement

• 18% have faulty license plate lights

• 10% have faulty brake lights

• 8 % defective side markers
